ESTEFANIA LARRAIN
Estefanía Larraín is a production designer born in Chile and currently based in Mexico. Her artistic career began in theater, where she studied Theatrical Design at the University of Chile and later at the University of the Arts in Havana. This training has led her to understand design from a global perspective, integrating space, costume, and lighting design in her work.
Over the past 20 years, she has been involved in major film productions, leaving a significant mark on the industry. Her filmography includes acclaimed works such as The Good Life by Andrés Wood, Too Late to Die Young by Dominga Sotomayor, and The Club, Ema, and No by Pablo Larraín, the latter nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
With Neruda, also by Pablo Larraín, she won the Fénix Award in Mexico and the Coral Award in Havana. For her work on A Fantastic Woman by Sebastián Lelio, which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, she was nominated for both the Fénix Awards and the Platino Awards in Mexico.
In 2020, Estefanía was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, reflecting her valuable contribution to the industry.
Among her most recent projects is In the Summers by Alessandra Lacorazza, which won the Jury Prize at Sundance 2024.
Additionally, her upcoming productions set to premiere in 2025 include Nadie Nos Vio Partir, a Netflix series directed by Lucía Puenzo, Sebastián Lelio’s new film The Wave, which recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and the latest fiction production by Maite Alberdi.
